Our worship services our both in person plus online live via Zoom, via eNews E-mails, and replayed on YouTube. Our office is open Tuesday-Friday 10am-2pm (hours may vary). The Lending Library is open during office hours. “Come, look at the selection of books the next time you are at the church.”

Welcome, Julian Munro, Student Minister

We are pleased to welcome Julian Munro (middle bottom) as our Student Minister in a two-year, half-time Supervised Ministry Education appointment.

They begin on September 1, 2026.

We are excited to support and nurture them on their journey toward becoming a minister in The United Church of Canada.

Today we gather to seek the thin spaces—those ordinary moments and places where the veil between heaven and earth grows thin, and God’s living presence meets us with attentive hearing and the gift of living water that truly satisfies.

Readings and Sermon Only

Cheryl’s reflection invites us to seek those thin spaces where the ordinary becomes a meeting place with the living God who hears our prayers and offers living water that never runs dry.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

We welcome to the pulpit, Karen Chandler. Karen Chandler is a Master of Divinity graduate (May 2026) and has been approved by The United Church of Canada to continue her journey toward ordination. Karen will be joining Forest Hill United Church for a 2-year Supervised Ministry Education (SME) term starting September 1, 2026. She is excited to share her passion for ministry, pastoral care, and congregational life with them. Karen is married to Bruce Chandler and they recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Her son, Aaron continues to work in the culinary industry as a chef. Karen is grateful for the continued friendship with Ebenezer United Church and its congregants and the invitation to worship with us once again.

Refreshments, fellowship, with Karen Chandler and Marilyn Tankard. We are so blessed to have Karen Chandler with us today not only as our pulpit supply but also as a generous provider of refreshments after service. Thanks to Marilyn and family for supporting the refreshments with coffee, tea, drinks and a helping hand.

Congratulations! We celebrate the placement and position that Karen Chandler has accepted at Forest Hill United Church as a student minister preparing for ordination and Pastoral Care minister.

Heritage United Church – Quilts for Wildfire Evacuees

Help by donating quilts please contact Carol DeGeer at 416-283-1841 or email Heritage United Church at heritageunitedchurch@gmail.com. Handmade Quilts will be sent to Kiikenomaga Kikenjigewen Employment & Training Services, an Indigenous skills and employment training organization serving the nine Matawa First Nations communities in Northern Ontario, Thunder Bay in early October.

NOTICE: Value Village Fundraising Event. We have registered with Value Village for a fundraising event on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

All that is required from you is items you wish to donate such as clothes, shoes, games, toys. For more information as to what can be donated, please see the sign-up sheet which details all the items, or read the poster. Items can be dropped off at Ebenezer United Church on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 12:30 p.m.

The United Church of Canada Foundation

What you should know

The United Church of Canada Foundation was established in 2002 to manage trusts and endowments to support the work of the church. A number of funds have been created. Congregations benefit from the Foundation in many ways including grants to support congregations for the service provided to their communities.
