As part of living our Mission to serve the community with compassion, the Board has decided to reinstate the Minister's Discretionary Fund. This Fund will be available to our Pastoral Care Minister and our Outreach Team to offer help to our neighbours who are in need. Please prayerfully consider making a donation to this Fund, as you are able.

WELCOME to Adura Adegbuyi, Director of Music at Ebenezer! Adura was born in Winnipeg, he studied in Russia, and he is originally from Nigeria. Adura’s music journey started in Nigeria when he was 8 years old in the children’s choir in the Anglican Church.

In his early 20’s Adura travelled to Russia for higher education. He came to Canada in 2005. Adura joined a couple of Pentecostal churches in Toronto. His most recent position was as an assistant music director in Christ Church Memorial in Oshawa.

Mr. Adegbuyi is a dad and together with his girl friend they have 4 children.

During his first service at Ebenezer United Church, Adura Adegbuyi said, “I am excited to be here to join the United Church family and I hope this journey lasts longer than you think and I hope to bring my talents to help contribute and develop the music ministry to support all the ministers and all the church leadership.”


We welcome to the pulpit, Cheryl Stenson. Cheryl took the Licensed Lay Worship Leader (LLWL) course with the United Church of Canada, receiving her license in November 2021. Since then, most of her Sundays have been filled serving in many and varied church communities, East to West, North to South. Cheryl helped coin Glebe’s mission statement, “Inclusive. Inventive. In Faith.” She aspires to reflect those qualities in her work as an LLWL. 


Thanks to Cheryl, Margaret, Adura, Diane, for preparing and presenting parts of the service and Sunday School. We thank Jamie, Doug for recording and replaying the service. 


BOOST THE BAG PROGRAM The next pick up for 2026 is May 20th. Please consider bringing some non-perishable food and personal items to help “boost” the bags of fresh food from YRFN for families in need.

Offerings You may leave a donation in the offering plate at the entrance to the sanctuary. If you would like to be part of the PAR program, please speak with Jacquelin or leave a message at the office. Please indicate who the donation is from. 


Sharing with our Neighbours containers - collect your spare change to help the Sunday School support the Minister's Discretionary Fund which will be used to help our neighbours in need. Please return the containers on Sunday May 24thPentecost Sunday.

Moose Hide Campaign Day National Rally at Queen’s Park in Toronto on Thursday, May 14. 12:00- 1:30 p.m. The United Church of Canada contingent will be meeting at the southeast corner of the park, near Queen’s Park Crescent East and Wellesley Street West at 11:45 a.m. We look forward to standing with you on May 14 as we walk together toward healing and restoration.
The Moose Hide Campaign is more than a day; it is a mobilization against the ongoing national crisis of violence facing Indigenous women, girls, and 2S and LGBTQIA+ people. Indigenous women, who make up just 5 percent of the female population, are disproportionately affected by gender-based violence in Canada. These are not just statistics. This is a reality we cannot ignore.

Our worship services our both in person plus online live via Zoom, via eNews E-mails, and replayed on YouTube. Our office is open Tuesday-Friday 10am-2pm (hours may vary).  The Lending Library is open during office hours. “Come, look at the selection of books the next time you are at the church.”

What you should know

The United Church of Canada Foundation was established in 2002 to manage trusts and endowments to support the work of the church. A number of funds have been created. Congregations benefit from the Foundation in many ways including grants to support congregations for the service provided to their communities.
