Our worship services our both in person plus online live via Zoom, via eNews E-mails, and replayed on YouTube. Our office is open Tuesday-Friday 10am-2pm (hours may vary). The Lending Library is open during office hours. “Come, look at the selection of books the next time you are at the church.”

Today we gather to seek the thin spaces—those ordinary moments and places where the veil between heaven and earth grows thin, and God’s living presence meets us with attentive hearing and the gift of living water that truly satisfies.

Readings and Sermon Only

Cheryl’s reflection invites us to seek those thin spaces where the ordinary becomes a meeting place with the living God who hears our prayers and offers living water that never runs dry.

Our Property Committee Team needs volunteers Saturday August 29 to help paint and refresh the Montessori School Wing. Please contact Renwick and Fitz if you can be of assistance.

We welcome to the pulpit, Cheryl Stenson, LLWL.

Cheryl took the Licensed Lay Worship Leader (LLWL) course with the United Church of Canada, receiving her license in November 2021. Since then, most of her Sundays have been filled serving in many and varied church communities, East to West, North to South.

Cheryl helped coin Glebe’s mission statement, “Inclusive. Inventive. In Faith.” She aspires to reflect those qualities in her work as an LLWL.

Looking for something to read this Summer? There are new books in our Lending Library by popular authors like: Sandra Brown, Tom Clancy, Michael Connelly, and more.

BOOST THE BOX PROGRAM The next date for pick-up of Good Food Boxes is August 19th. Please consider bringing some non-perishable food and personal items to help “boost” the boxes of fresh food from YRFN for families in need. Thank you.

Sunday School: If you are interested in helping grow the Sunday School program for future generations, please speak with Diane McLean. During the summer months there are pew packs available for children and youth to use at their seats.

Offerings You may leave a donation in the offering plate at the entrance to the sanctuary.

If you would like to be part of the PAR program, please speak with Jacquelin or leave a message at the office. Please indicate who the donation is from.

Heritage United Church – Quilts for Wildfire Evacuees

Handmade Quilts will be sent to Kiikenomaga Kikenjigewen Employment & Training Services, an Indigenous skills and employment training organization serving the nine Matawa First Nations communities in Northern Ontario, Thunder Bay in early October.

The United Church of Canada Foundation

What you should know

The United Church of Canada Foundation was established in 2002 to manage trusts and endowments to support the work of the church. A number of funds have been created. Congregations benefit from the Foundation in many ways including grants to support congregations for the service provided to their communities.
